Privacy Policy
BeerTalk is a private social app for adults. We collect only what is necessary to run the service, we never sell your data, and we never use your content for advertising.
1. Who we are
BeerTalk is operated by ALPE svetovanje s.p., based in Slovenia, European Union. You can reach us at aljazpetek912@gmail.com.
As a service directed at residents of the European Union, we operate in compliance with the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR, Regulation (EU) 2016/679).
2. What data we collect
We collect only the data you provide directly or that is generated by your use of the app:
- Account information: Your email address and password (stored as a secure hash) when you register.
- Profile information: A display name and username you choose. An optional profile photo.
- Content you create: Photos you take and share within the app, captions, messages, and reactions.
- Usage data: Basic technical logs (timestamps, error reports) necessary for app stability. We do not track browsing behaviour or build advertising profiles.
- Device information: Device type and operating system version, collected automatically to diagnose crashes.
We do not collect location data, contacts from your address book, or any biometric data.
3. How we use your data
We use your data exclusively to:
- Create and manage your account
- Deliver the core service — sharing photos and messages with the friends you choose
- Authenticate your identity and keep your account secure
- Diagnose technical problems and improve stability
- Respond to support requests you send us
We do not use your data for advertising, profiling, or automated decision-making that produces legal or similarly significant effects.
4. Who can see your content
BeerTalk is private by design. Your posts are shared only with the specific people you select. Your messages are visible only to the participants of that conversation. We do not have a public feed or any publicly visible profile pages.
Our staff may access user content in exceptional cases — for example, when investigating a report of abuse — but only to the extent strictly necessary.
5. How we store and protect your data
All data is stored on Supabase (a data infrastructure provider), hosted on servers within the European Union (AWS eu-west-1, Ireland). Supabase acts as a data processor under a data processing agreement with us.
Passwords are never stored in plain text. All data is encrypted in transit (TLS) and at rest (AES-256). Access to production systems is restricted to authorised personnel only.
Photos you upload are stored in a private storage bucket and served only to authorised recipients.
6. Data retention
We retain your data for as long as your account is active. If you delete your account, we will delete your personal data within 30 days, except where we are required to retain records by law. Content you have shared with others (messages, photos in their feeds) may remain in their view until they delete it or their account is deleted.
7. Your rights under GDPR
If you are in the European Economic Area, you have the following rights:
- Access: Request a copy of the data we hold about you.
- Rectification: Correct inaccurate or incomplete data.
- Erasure: Ask us to delete your account and associated data.
- Restriction: Ask us to pause processing of your data.
- Portability: Receive your data in a machine-readable format.
- Objection: Object to processing based on legitimate interests.
To exercise any of these rights, email us at aljazpetek912@gmail.com. We will respond within 30 days. You also have the right to lodge a complaint with your national supervisory authority — in Slovenia, this is the Information Commissioner (IP-RS).
8. Children
BeerTalk is intended exclusively for users aged 18 and over. We do not knowingly collect data from anyone under 18. If you believe a minor has created an account, contact us and we will delete it promptly.
9. Third-party services
We use the following third-party processors to operate the service:
- Supabase, Inc. — database, authentication, and file storage (EU-hosted)
- Expo / EAS — app build and delivery infrastructure
- Apple App Store / Google Play — app distribution (subject to their own privacy policies)
We do not integrate third-party analytics, advertising networks, or social login providers.
10. Changes to this policy
If we make material changes to this policy, we will notify you via the app and update the “Last updated” date at the top. Continued use of BeerTalk after notification constitutes acceptance of the revised policy.
